Multiple sclerosis treatment by GOOD CELLS

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease. The immune cells produce antibodies against their own neurons, causing damage to the brain and spinal cord. Based on this, our clinic proposes the following protocols for patients treatment.
To assess the condition, you will first be asked to do an MRI with contrast. If there is an accumulation of foci, treatment will begin with the suppression of the activity, and only then you will be prescribed cell therapy. If the doctor doesn't see the intensification of the process, you can immediately proceed to cell therapy.
Cell therapy from GOOD CELLS includes endolumbar administration of neural crest-derived multipotent stem cells (NC-MSCs) and umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (umbilical cord MSC) or adipose MSCs.
In some cases, the doctor may prescribe immunocompetent MSCs — cells processed by anti-inflammatory tumor necrosis factor.

What to expect from stem cell therapy?

Endolumbar administration of neural crest-derived multipotent stem cells is performed to ensure regeneration and maintenance of intact brain neurons.

An intravenous infusion of MSCs from adipose tissue or umbilical cord is necessary to suppress the immune response and reduce the aggressiveness of the immune cells against the body.

In some cases, the doctor may prescribe immunocompetent MSCs, pre-treated with anti-inflammatory tumor necrosis factor, to increase the suppressive effect on the immune system and improve the further course of multiple sclerosis.

The effectiveness of treatment is measured by the number of clinical exacerbations and the number of new foci on MRI. About 70% of our patients observe an improvement in the course of the disease, a two-time reduction in the number of exacerbations or their absence, and no progression on MRI.

Online/offline consultation with a doctor 

A personal consultation with a doctor is an excellent opportunity for you to find out all details of the program and get an individual prognosis. All the medical information you provide will be carefully reviewed so that you get the most effective treatment. The procedures take place in our clinical institutions in Kyiv, Ukraine. The course of the treatment is developed individually and lasts for 2 days and more.



During the checkup, the doctor assesses your readiness for cell therapy. If the assessment is positive, biological materials are taken. Depending on your doctor's recommendations, you may be prescribed your own* or donor stem cells.
*If you are prescribed the treatment with your own cells, you will have an ear punch biopsy performed under anesthesia in an operating room. The procedure lasts for 15 minutes. The punch depth is up to 4 mm, and the diameter is up to 3 mm.


Preparation of the stem cell product

OWN CELLSAfter the biomaterials are collected, our team of biotechnologists will prepare a therapeutic dose of stem cells. In our laboratory, we will select stem cells from your sample, grow the required number of cells, test them, then create a stem cell product for your treatment. Usually, the production takes up to 21 days.
DONOR CELLSAccording to the doctor's prescription, the biotechnologist will select a ready-made and pre-tested sample of donor cells from our cryobank in the required quantity. In this case, cell injection can happen immediately after diagnosis and drug preparation.
CULTIVATION WITH CYTOKINESThe doctor may also prescribe the injection of cells processed by tumor necrosis factor. In this case, the cells are processed 5-7 days before the patient's visit, so it is necessary to plan your visit accordingly. Otherwise, the duration of treatment may increase by another 5-7 days.


Start of treatment

You will have a consultation with a doctor, ultrasound, additional examinations, and tests during the first visit to the clinic.


Pharmacological therapy

Based on the diagnostic results, your doctor may prescribe drug therapy in the form of intravenous infusion and intramuscular injection. If there is no exacerbation of the disease, you can immediately go to Step 7, bypassing drug therapy.


Injection of the cellular product, the regeneration phase

As part of treatment, the doctor may prescribe intravenous cell therapy and endolumbar administration of the cell product twice.


Medical assessment report and weakening of the basic treatment

You will be provided with a medical assessment report that states the diagnosis, the examination results (clinical, laboratory, and instrumental), the treatment process, and further recommendations. The doctor will examine you, select the necessary treatment, or adjust the one prescribed to you at the time of arrival at the clinic.


Keeping in touch

The first results can be observed in 2 weeks after cell therapy. You will see the improvement of the regenerative processes in the body in the third and sixth months after treatment.
Throughout the program, you will have a personal manager who will ensure the best communication between you and the clinic. After treatment, our patients are advised to maintain contact with us. We'll ask you to fill out a questionnaire in 3 and 6 months after the treatment to evaluate the progress and answer all questions.

Scientific evidence

The bone marrow MSCs, adipose tissue-derived MSCs, umbilical cord MSCs or neuronal precursors derived from MSCs are the predominant cell types used for multiple sclerosis treatment. The research results prove that the transplantation of cell material is feasible, well-tolerated by patients, and does not cause serious side effects. Significant improvement was observed in some patients with multiple sclerosis, and stabilization in others. MSC transplantation for patients with multiple sclerosis caused an immediate immunomodulatory effect, manifested in a decrease of proinflammatory cytokines and normalization of the subpopulations ration of immune system cells.

  • Can I hope for a full recovery?

    No, unfortunately. However, neural crest stem cells will stop nerve fiber damage, protect the neurons from death, and stimulate nerve fiber regeneration. In the best case, fiber recovery speed will restore lost skills and functionality (physical activity, etc.). In the worst case, the disease will not progress.

  • Will therapy have to be repeated regularly?

    50% of our patients repeat the therapy with stem cells at different intervals. The need for this is determined individually.

  • Is it true that medical treatment can give the best effect?

    It's true, but these drugs are not present in our clinic. The drug courses are much more expensive than cell therapy, but most of them guarantee stabilization of the patient's condition for only 5-7 years.
