What method does GOOD CELLS offer?

In today's world, it is vital to maintain physical activity, the work/life balance, a healthy diet, and avoid bad habits. People are trying to seize opportunities the world has to offer but sometimes overlook the moment when their own balance is disturbed, and various factors begin to depress the body.
During life, the spine is continuously under pressure, and most of us end up with back pain occurring at various frequencies. The human spine helps keep the back straight and protects the spinal cord, which performs vital functions, including reflex and conduction. Therefore, it is crucial to protect the spine.
The most common manifestations of spinal dysfunction are intervertebral disc herniation and facet syndrome. Each case is accompanied by back pain and sometimes leads to limited mobility.
GOOD CELLS offers cell therapy to reduce pain and improve musculoskeletal function. To do this, the doctor may prescribe a local injection of mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue (MSCs of adipose tissue).
About 87% of patients confirm that the mobility is restored, and in 73% of cases the pain is relieved.

MSCs mechanism in action

Mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue have a broad spectrum of action. Many studies, as well as our observations, show that these cells can differentiate into cells of connective tissue, promote tissue regeneration, neovascularization of affected tissues, and inhibit the inflammatory process.
The protocol for the isolation of MSCs from adipose tissue is standardized and used worldwide.

The treatment process

1

Consultation with a manager

Contact our managers with no obligations on your side. At this step, we gather your medical information and confirm the diagnosis. After that, we'll arrange a free online or offline consultation with a doctor.

2

Online/offline consultation with a doctor

A personal consultation with a doctor is an excellent opportunity for you to find out all details of the program and get an individual prognosis. All the medical information you provide will be carefully reviewed so that you get the most effective treatment. The procedures take place in our clinical institutions in Kyiv, Ukraine. The course of the treatment is developed individually and lasts 4 days or more.

3

Checkup

During the checkup, the doctor assesses your readiness for cell therapy. If the assessment is positive, biological materials are taken. Depending on your doctor's recommendations, you may be prescribed your own* or donor stem cells.
*If you are prescribed the treatment with your own cells, you will have an ear punch biopsy performed under anesthesia in an operating room. The procedure lasts for 15 minutes. The punch depth is up to 4 mm, and the diameter is up to 3 mm.

4

Preparation of the stem cell product

OWN CELLSAfter the biomaterials are collected, our team of biotechnologists will prepare a therapeutic dose of stem cells. In our laboratory, we will select stem cells from your sample, grow the required number of cells, test them, then create a stem cell product for your treatment. Usually, the production takes up to 21 days.
DONOR CELLSAccording to the doctor's prescription, the biotechnologist will select a ready-made and pre-tested sample of donor cells from our cryobank in the required quantity. In this case, cell injection can happen immediately after diagnosis and drug preparation.

5

Start of treatment

During your first visit to the clinic, you will consult with a doctor, then have an instrumental (MRI or X-ray), clinical, and laboratory checkup.

6

Injection of the cellular product, the regeneration phase

As part of treatment, the doctor may prescribe local introduction of the cellular product twice.

7

Medical assessment report and weakening of the basic treatment

You will be provided with a medical assessment report that states the diagnosis, the examination results (clinical, laboratory, and instrumental), the treatment process, and further recommendations. The doctor will examine you, select the necessary treatment, or adjust the one prescribed to you at the time of arrival at the clinic.

8

Keeping in touch

The main results can be observed within 6 months after treatment. You will see the improvement of the regenerative processes in the body.
Throughout the program, you will have a personal manager who will ensure the best communication between you and the clinic. After treatment, our patients are advised to maintain contact with us. We'll ask you to fill out a questionnaire in 3 and 6 months after the treatment to evaluate the progress and answer all questions.

Scientific evidence

Intervertebral disc degeneration is considered to be one of the leading causes of low back pain contributing to other disc pathologies, such as disc herniation, spinal canal stenosis, or facet joint syndrome.
The avascularity of the intervertebral discs is an obstacle for the body's self-regeneration due to the migration of SC from other depots. Tissue-specific progenitor cells have been identified in the intervertebral discs and can be targeted for regeneration.
The use of MSCs in the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration is based on data from preclinical studies, namely:
MSCs can survive after transplantation and differentiate into chondrocytes; MSCs stimulate the resumption of extracellular matrix protein synthesis, including type 2 collagen; MSCs with immunosuppressive properties help reduce inflammation and thus stop further death of functional disc cells.
A pilot study by Centeno et al. (2017) showed the results of the use of autologous MSCs in intervertebral disc degeneration treatment. Thirty-three patients with lower back pain and disc degeneration with diagnosed posterior disc bulge on magnetic resonance imaging were included in the study. Autologous MSCs of the bone marrow were used for treatment.
The study did not reveal any severe side effects (i.e., death, infection, or tumor) associated with MSC transplantation. Numerical pain scores (NPS) relative to baseline decreased significantly after 3, 36, 48, 60, and 72 months after treatment. Twenty patients who underwent MRI after treatment observed a reduction in the size of the bulge of the disc, with the average decrease by 23% after treatment.

FAQ

  • Will this treatment relieve the pain immediately?

Yes, you will feel relief immediately after the procedure.

  • Can I play sports after treatment?

Moderate physical activity will be required. This will improve back muscles and blood circulation, which is essential for the effective results of stem cell transplantation.

  • Is it possible to restore the functionality of the spine after injuries with the help of stem cells?

No, not really. Stem cell therapy results depend on the type of damage, the amount of damaged tissue, the patient's age, etc. Today, some technologies allow you to restore nerve fibers, but they are based solely on the patient's natural ability to regenerate tissues.
